Lane is a leader of workforce training and in 2002 the college
continued the trend by building a professional service kitchen.
The kitchen serves as a training ground for culinary students allowing
them to learn banquet preparation. Located in the new 38,000 square
foot Center for Meeting and Learning, this innovative kitchen is
an integral part of the college’s effort to earn accreditation
from the American Culinary Federation, an internationally recognized
standard.
Business and corporate donors choose to contribute to Lane Community
College because they see the value of the training the college provides
to the workforce. Generous donations from supporters of the Culinary
Campaign raised $304,903 for equipment and construction in addition
to college bond funds. One of the major donors to the Culinary Campaign,
McDonald Candy Company contributed generously in honor of founder
Weir W. McDonald. Company vice-presidents, Kent and Brian Huey,

Every gift makes a difference and brings our students closer to
achieving their dreams.
Thank you for making a difference!
