Lane retirees organize to support the college and each other
The formation of a retirees’ association has long been a
goal of former Lane employee Bob Way. “I envisioned such an
organization as providing an opportunity for retirees to keep in
contact with each other, to maintain communication with the college
and to socialize with group activities,” he says. “When
I learned that President Spilde was interested in an organization
like this, I asked a group of retirees to be the charter group to
start the association. This fun, energized group of retirees has
been meeting monthly for nearly two years. Our plans include an
annual banquet, a newsletter, a series of nationally known speakers,
participation in the Foundation’s scholarship selection committee,
and a monthly brown bag lunch. Our number one goal is to have fun.”
Whether you’re a former Lane employee, a retiree, or simply
someone who would like to fill your spare time helping others, we
can use your skills and experience. The Foundation consists of a
small team of full-time employees who can always use some extra
hands. If you’re interested in volunteering with the Foundation,
call us at (541) 463-5226 or email us at foundation@lanecc.edu.
If you don’t have time to spare, but would like to help us
transform lives forever, there are many other ways to support the
Foundation.
Every gift makes a difference and brings our students closer to
achieving their dreams.
Thank you for making a difference!
