PERFORMING ARTS ADDITION
January 28, 2002 Update
PA STAFF HOSTS FAREWELL LUNCHEON.
Throughout work on the Performing Arts Project DPR's crew has maintained a positive relationship with the Performing Arts personnel and gone out of their way to accommodate educational activities in the building. As a token of their appreciation for doing such a great job, the Performing Arts staff held a 'Construction Crews Farewell Lunch' last Monday in the PA lobby. Bimb Kampanatsanyakorn organized the luncheon, which originally started out as a small event but then blossomed into something much larger, with DPR, City View Electric, EMK, bond staff, Performing Arts personnel, the president, and two board members joining in the festivities. Attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch while serenaded by MD&TA music students. Overall, it was quite a unique way to celebrate the completion of contracted work. DPR pushed hard to complete work on the Performing Arts Addition by January 28; however, work on the fire alarm and mechanical control systems will keep the contractor on site until the end of this week. Once DPR's portion of the project finishes up LCC's staff will begin work on items not included in the construction contract: installation of cabinetry and electrical wiring in the music lab. Performing Arts personnel will move to their new offices in March with the remainder of moves taking place in June 2002.
