November 05, 2001 Update
INTERIOR & EXTERIOR WORK CONTINUES AT WFTC.
Despite the onset of inclement weather, progress on all areas of both the interior and exterior of the Workforce Training Center continue. In the most western portion of the facility, which will house Business & Industry Services, Hospitality Services, Culinary Arts, and the conference center, various areas have sheetrock up. It is expected that second floor framing will reach the 50% mark by the middle of the month. The roof is complete. On the first floor of the remodeled facility, classrooms and offices are already defined as sheetrock is up and taping is underway for the future home of CIT. Telecommunications are being run on the first floor as well. The second floor of the remodel has a substantial portion of the framing up and approximately 50% of the seismic work completed for areas that will house Co-op Ed, College Now, Distance Learning, the ITC, and multiple classes. At the future home of T&D, located in the southern addition, the roof is approaching 50% completion. Brick masons are focusing their efforts on this portion of the facility. The anticipated completion date for the entire WFTC complex is May '02.
