PERFORMING ARTS ADDITION
December 3, 2001 Update
INTERIOR OF PA ADDITION DEFINED.
Inside the concrete walls of the Performing Arts Addition, DPR's crew is defining individual spaces with steel stud framing and sheetrock. While all the framing is complete, installation of sheetrock progresses from the east to the west side of the facility. All walls in the addition should be taped and mudded by the end of next week. Chlorination of water lines took place last Friday after completion of line work that brought the existing building's water system up to code. On the exterior of the addition, windows are glazed and LCC's painters are sealing the concrete walls with a white substance called block-fill. As weather permits, sealing activities will be completed and the walls painted to match the existing building. In order to assure that casework installation goes smoothly, staff recently went over cabinetry details with the carpenters to ensure that locations of cuts for electrical and data services are correct.
