William F. Helms Scholarship

  • This scholarship is open to students that can maintain at least a 2.5 GPA, enrolled in biology or agriculture programs, and agree to work for the agency during school breaks.

APS Minority Scholarship

  • The goal of this minority scholarship is to increase the number of under-represented minorities obtaining degrees in physics.  

Jean Davis Memorial and Augusta Rockafellar Memorial Scholarship Funds

  • Scholarships are available to students in Oregon colleges, planning their major study in plant systematics or plant ecology, and student must complete a short auto-biography along with 2 letters of recommendation.

 MUST Scholarship Project

  • MUST awards scholarships and internships to undergraduates pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, fields. The MUST Project is open to all students and is particularly focused on engaging students from underserved and underrepresented groups to enter STEM fields.

WRITING SCHOLARSHIPS 
Amy Lowell Poetry Traveling Scholarship

  • If accepted, recipient must live outside of North America for 1 year and must write 3 poems while abroad.  The application and instructions to apply are on this site.

 Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

  • Applicant must choose a topic (on site) and write an essay.  First place is worth $10,000.

 Platt Family Scholarship

  • Applicant must submit an essay on the topic given.

 L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest

  • Essays must be up to 17,000 words in any area of fiction not including poetry or works intended for children.

 CrossLites Scholarship Contest

  • Essay contest in which student must submit a 400-to 600-word response to a quote by Dr. Parker (quotes found on website).  May submit up to 2 essays.

 College Is Power

  • Must be 17 years or older enrolled in higher education within the next 12 months, either full or part-time.  Must fill out online application and submit a short essay. 

America’s First Freedom Student Competition

  • To be eligible, students must request competition sponsorship from their Social Studies or English department teacher.  This award is open to high school students grades 9-12.  Student must submit an essay on the selected topic found on this site.
