JOURNALISM SCHOLARSHIPS 

Oregon Association of Broadcasters Foundation Scholarships

  • Applicant must submit an essay (topics listed on the site), be enrolled in a broadcasting field, maintain and have a 3.25 GPA, and Oregon residents.

Eugene Area Radio Stations Broadcast Scholarship

  • Must be Oregon residents enrolled in a two or four year college or university in Oregon.

Community College Baccalaureate Association’s Student Essay Contest

  • Essay must be 400-500 words with the topic listed on the site.  Winner will receive all-expense paid trip to the conference and $1000.

 Elder & Leemaur Publishers Scholarship

  • This scholarship is available to current undergraduate students in any field of study and any student in either junior or senior high school. Recipients of the scholarships will be determined based on quality of essay (400-500 words).

 RTNDA Scholarships

  • A variety of scholarships are offered through this site with different qualifications for each.

 AAJA Scholarship

  • Commitment to the field of journalism, sensitivity to Asian American issues as demonstrated by community involvement, journalistic ability, scholastic ability, financial need, and must live in Washington or Oregon.

 StraightForward Media & Communications Scholarship

  • A scholarship in the amount of $500 is awarded every three months.

LANGUAGE STUDIES SCHOLARSHIPS 

Asian Reporter Scholarships

  • The scholarship is open to high school graduates entering an accredited college or university and applicant must be a descendant of specific military background, as well as submit an essay of up to 500 words.

 Elizabeth Baricevic/ Josefina Botta Memorial Scholarships

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an Oregon post-secondary institution, completed or enrolled in 3rd year second language, maintain a 3.5 GPA in the second language, and be in the top third of their graduating class (high school).

Jan and Joe Foster Legal Assistant Scholarship

  • The scholarship is given to students who either demonstrate high academic achievement or are actively involved in their school or community.  The student is required to write an essay, must have letters of recommendation, and fill out the application.

 LAT Scholarship Opportunities

  • Applicants must be a high school student enrolled in the Legal field or a NALS Michigan member, maintain a “B” average, submit a one page auto-biographical essay, and have a letter of recommendation.

 Straightforward Media Vocational Technical Scholarship

  • A $500 scholarship is awarded every 3 months.

 National Federation of Paralegal Associations Awards and Scholarships

  • The applicant must demonstrate to the community the strengths and commitment of professional paralegals and confirm NFPA’s position as The Leader of the Paralegal Profession.

Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Scholarships

  • The applicant must submit an essay, maintain an expected GPA, pursuing their degree on a full-time basis (12 credits minimum), and intend to pursue a degree in a manufacturing related field of study.

  • Flash animation contest for students, budding artists, multi-media designers, and activists who are interested in making some unique web videos (shorts).

The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund

  • The applicant must be in active participation in struggles for civil rights, economic justice, international solidarity or other progressive issues, demonstrate financial need, and maintain excellent academic performance.

Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship

  • Applicant must be current member of the NAACP and must not have reached the age of 25, maintain at least a GPA of 2.5, and demonstrate financial need.

Christopher Mesi Memorial Music Scholarship

  • Applicant must demonstrate community or school involvement, a GPA of at least a 2.75, and submit 2 letters of recommendation.
