Objective 5: Underprepared Students
Lane will create or expand learning-centered programs and strategies to ensure the success of underprepared students
1. Outcome: Lane will address the fragmentation of programs and services available to the underprepared learner.

1a. Identify the stakeholders who serve underprepared students.

2. Outcome: Lane will conduct assessments of their current programs for underprepared students to determine student success rates, program strengths, and program weaknesses.
Activities:
2a. Continue assessments for Guided Studies, Core College Connections, and Math 10.

3. Outcome: Lane will create programs of assessment, academic advising, and orientation that will ensure underprepared students are placed in opportunities where they can succeed.
Activities:
3a. Accept invitation for a team to visit the Community College of Denver.
Timeline: Winter 2001 cancelled due to budget considerations

3b. Explore use of multiple assessment tools to place underprepared students.

4. Outcome: Lane will expand the number of options for learning (lecture, labs, project-based, teams, mentoring, field experience, etc) currently offered to underprepared students.
