Admission & Program Requirements

Any Lane Community College student can enroll in an honors course or request the honors option for courses designated as honors option classes. Admission into the Lane Honors Program, however, requires a formal application.

To be considered for the Honors Program you must:

1. Complete a Lane admission online application
   
2. Complete an Honors Program online application
   (Printable PDF Version of Honors Program application here)*
   
3. Demonstrate completion of or placement testing into WR 121 or higher.
   
4. Meet any one of the following requirements:
   • High school transcript with a minimum GPA of 3.25
   • College transcript(s) with at least 15 quarter credits or 12 semester credits and a minimum GPA of 3.25
     
   • Evidence of two Lane honors courses with a minimum GPA of 3.00
     
   • An SAT test report with a combined minimum score of 1200 for math and critical reading
     
   • An ACT test report with a minimum score of 27
   • Submit a confidential letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or college instructor addressing how you are prepared to undertake honors coursework
