Applying for Admission/ Activating your myLane Account

Lane Community College accepts all students who are 18 or over or have a high school diploma or GED.

If you have never attended Lane before, or if it has been over one year since you last attended, you need to complete a new admission. Lane Community College offers both credit degree/certificate programs and non-credit Community Education classes and programs, with a slightly different admission process for each. Students admitted as "credit" seeking may also register for non-credit classes if they wish.  

Lane Community College accepts all students who are 18 or over or have a high school diploma or GED. Students who are under 18 and have not graduated may still attend if they follow the guidelines for Under 18 Students.

Once you have completed the online form, you will receive your "L number" which will be your Student ID, via email.  If you already have an L number from a prior time, your information will be updated and you will use the same number.

This number will be part of any communications to you, any records about you, and will be your code to access your secure account in myLane-Lane's student portal. 

There is no application deadline for general admission to Lane. Some classes do fill up quickly, so we encourage you to apply before registration begins for the term you wish to attend.

You may apply any time up to one year prior to your intended first term. Lane uses a web-based system for registration, records, financial aid, and billing accounts.

Types of Students:

Non-Credit/Community Education Students- Attending for personal interest classes that do not confer college credit - Students who want to take noncredit classes can choose one of the following:

Credit Students - Attending for college credit and/or a degree program

Once you have completed your credit admission on-line, you will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application and another e-mail with your Lane ID “L” student identification number.   This number will be part of any communications to you, any records about you, and will be your code to access your secure account in myLane-the student access system.  Please be sure your email account is set up to receive messages from lanecc.edu.

All new students are required to submit an e-mail address when applying to the college by using the online admissions process. Students who have already been admitted are encouraged to enter an e-mail address via their myLane account.
