A Feast of Tales: LCC Classical Cuisine Dinner
EUGENE, OR - The much anticipated student-led winter term dinner at Lane Community College's Center for Meeting and Learning promises to be the most festive yet. The Shakespearean themed event is planned, prepared and hosted by culinary arts and hospitality management students.
The event takes place on March 3 at the Center for Meeting and Learning, Lane Community College, at 5 PM. Tickets are $35.00 each and can be ordered online at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/culinary/cuisine.htm. Don't delay, seating is limited.
The five-course dinner features British cuisine including petite Cornish pasties for hors d'oeuvres, a Cornish style red fish soup, braised shoulder of lamb with potato and curds pie, a beetroot salad and a Scottish tart for dessert.
Josh Johnson, from Klamath Falls, Oregon, is the student in charge of the kitchen for the dinner. He has always loved to cook, but it wasn't until recently that he was inspired by a friend to turn his passion to the culinary arts. Chosen by his chef instructors, Johnson takes great honor in receiving the position. "I consider this a great opportunity and privilege to work with my peers and chef instructors to produce a wonderful event for community members," he says.
The evening's entertainment will feature Lane Theatre students performing a variety of Shakespeare scenes and songs directed by Sparky J. Roberts and a performance by Ashland performer Joe Cronin.
A no-host wine and beer bar will be available.
Vegetarian and special dietary requests can be accommodated.
