Preview Night expected to draw hundreds to LCC February 2
EUGENE, OR - Lane Preview Night, the annual open house at Lane Community College for high school students and their families, is Wednesday, February 2, from 6-8:30 p.m. in the gym, building 5, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene. About 1,200 attendees are expected.
Lane's relatively low cost, wide variety of classes and programs, and high success rate of graduates are big draws for prospective students, says David Van Der Haeghen, Student Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator.
The event offers information about academic and career training programs, a feel for what higher education is all about, a chance to meet faculty, and prizes including Titan gear and tuition certificates.
Breakout sessions cover the financial aid process, a tour of the new Health and Wellness Center, and details on transferring to another college or university after Lane.
Lane Community College is a comprehensive community college offering two-year associate degrees and one-year certificates in a variety of instructional programs. Students can earn an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer degree and continue their education, or prepare for career in more than 40 occupations. Lane also offers continuing education noncredit courses, foundational academic and language programs, business development services and custom workforce training, and cultural and community services. Classes are available at main campus and other Eugene locations, in Florence and Cottage Grove, online, and by telecourse. Last year, nearly 38,000 people enrolled at Lane Community College.
