LPN presentationLANE PREVIEW NIGHT 2011

Lane Community College invites you to attend its annual open house for prospective high school students and their families. Lane Preview Night will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 2 from 6 to 8:30 pm in Building 5 / Gymnasium. This event is a great opportunity to meet Lane faculty and staff, find out more about our academic transfer or career and technical programs, and learn why so many students choose Lane to achieve their dreams in higher education!

Lane Community College is located at 4000 East 30th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon, 97405. A campus map and driving directions can be found by clicking here. Parking on campus is free, but due to increased enrollment at the college this year, we encourage you to arrive early and park in lots A and B.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

6:00 pm – Lane Preview Night Check-in – Gym
Let us know you’re here so we can enter you in our prize drawing for cool gear like sweatshirts, backpacks and more! We’ll give you an agenda so you know what’s happening, where it takes place and when.

6:00 pm – Information Fair – Gym
Take this time to visit with various campus representatives from our academic transfer programs, career and technical programs and student support resources. Our talented faculty and staff are here to answer your questions and get you the information you need.

Disability Resources Open House
Disability Resources Advisors will be available to answer your questions and provide valuable information for those transitioning from high school to college.  Drop in for light refreshments and a "meet and greet" from 6-8pm, Building 1, Room 218. 

7:00 pm – Opening Session and Welcome Remarks – Gym
Hear from President Mary Spilde and our student body president about why Lane is such a good option for your college education!

7:20 pm – Breakout Information Sessions – Various Classrooms
Choose an information session that interests you and learn more about how this topic is relevant to new, incoming Lane students. We’ll have student volunteers available to make sure you know where you’re heading.

Student Involvement at Lane
The Associated Students of Lane Community College (ASLCC) is the largest on-campus student organization. Attend this session to learn more about the different ways you can get involved with dozens of clubs, groups and other organizations that work across campus and in the community!

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Lane encourages all students to apply for financial aid and scholarships. Learn more during this session about how you can get money to fund your college education.

Testing…Testing…123…Testing!
All incoming Lane students are required to take placement exams in reading, writing and math. Come hear about how this important part of our admissions process is accessible from your high school campus!

LPN Health Professions presentationHealth Professions Tour
In Fall 2010, Lane opened our brand new Health and Wellness Center (Building 30). This tour will give you a sneak peak at all our popular and top-rated health care training programs, including Nursing, Medical Office Assisting, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Technician, Health Records Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant and Respiratory Care (note: this is a walking tour with stairs and elevators available).

The First-Year Experience
Come hear about Lane’s Learning Communities, which help ease a student’s transition into college by linking faculty and classes together with the same students. Find out why one of our unique first-year programs will benefit you as a student.

Transferring to a Four-Year College or University
Many Lane students intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree at another college or university. Hear from an academic advisor about the requirements to transfer to other Oregon institutions, and get a sense of what requirements you might need to fulfill.
