LCC PREVIEW NIGHT MARCH 4

Eugene, Ore. - Lane Community College holds its annual Preview Night for high school students and their families on Wednesday, March 4, beginning at 6 p.m. in the main campus gym, building 5. The event offers a chance to get information about Lane programs, resources and educational opportunities all in one evening. Preregister online at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/es/previewnight.html

An information fair at 6 p.m. will be followed by welcoming remarks from President Mary Spilde at 7 p.m., then break-out sessions on a variety of topics until a closing reception at 8:30 p.m.

Preview Night is designed for students just starting to consider their post-high school options as well as those already planning to attend Lane. Representatives of all the college’s technical, career and college transfer programs will be on hand, as will staff from such services as Financial Aid and Disability Resources. A prize drawing offers iPods, tuition certificates and other great prizes. Students will be able to apply for admission on the spot.

Break-out sessions will offer help with the financial aid application process, the difference between academic transfer and career and technical programs, and options for attending as a full-time or part-time student-or even earning college credit while still in high school.

David Van Der Haeghen, Student Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator, encourages students to bring their parents and other family members. “Especially in our current economic climate, it’s important for parents to take an active role in helping students choose their path,” he says. Lane’s relatively low cost, wide variety of classes and programs, and high success rate of transfer graduates make Lane a particularly attractive option for students today.

Lane is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution. For disability accommodations to attend this event, call 463-5150 (voice) or 463-3079 (TTY) at least 48 hours in advance.
