Employment Trends

Excellent and varied career opportunities exist for physical therapist assistant graduates. The demand for licensed physical therapist assistants continues to increase in Oregon and throughout much of the United States. Physical Therapist Assistants can elect to practice full time or on a part-time basis. Average wages in Oregon for physical therapist assistants ranges between $19 and $24 per hour. Earnings of physical therapist assistants are affected by the type of employer, education and experience of the individual, as well as on the geographic location.  Current employment statistics for physical therapist assistants in Oregon can be researched through the Oregon Employment Department.

Articulation Agreement

The Physical Therapist Assistant degree program is a distinct career and technical program.  There are 19 degree credits which may transfer to a four-year university or college.  Students who are interested in attaining a bachelor’s or higher degree are encouraged to work with Academic Advising.
