DISTANCE LEARNING SITES
Didactic (lecture) instruction in the Lane Community College Dental Hygiene Program is provided to all program students using the Moodle learning management system. Clinical instruction is provided at the LCC main campus clinic and distance site clinics in three locations. On campus weekly classroom seminars are also held at all clinical sites by lead clinical faculty. Laboratory facilities are also available for all students within the clinical facilities.
Lane Community College has partnered with Lewis-Clark State College to provide a six- student instructional site on the LCSC campus in Lewiston, Idaho, which began accepting students Fall 2008. The Whittman building on the main campus provides a clinical and laboratory facility. Six students per year are accepted at this site. Lane Community College has partnered with Umpqua Community College and the Umpqua Community Health Center Dental Clinic to provide a five-student clinical instruction site, which began accepting students Fall 2008. The students selected for this site should use the Lane Community College Dental Hygiene Program Oregon application and will be selected based on residency in counties served by UCC.
Lane Community College has partnered with Linn-Benton Community College since Fall term 2007 to provide a 5-student distance education clinical site on the LBCC campus. The Dental Assisting Program Clinical and Laboratory facilities are used for instruction. Students are selected using the Lane Community College program Oregon application and students will be selected based on residency in counties served by LBCC.
