Retirees Stay Active in College
Anyone who has retired from Lane Community College or was employed
at Lane for 10 years or more is eligible to become a member of the
Lane Retirees Association which was created in 2003. Members stay
in touch through quarterly meetings and a regularly published newsletter.
Meetings may include guest speakers, representatives of the college,
and entertainment. In addition, the group hosts an annual Retiree
Dinner, the President’s Retiree Tee, and a financial planning
seminar.
The mission of the Retirees Association is to advance, support
and promote the interests of Lane Community College, its students
and retirees. The group’s current Chair is Bob Way.
The purpose of the Association is to:
- Develop continuing relationships between retired and current
LCC employees
- Support LCC educational programs and goals
- Keep retired employees abreast of new directions and educational
programs of the college
- Hold meetings and sponsor social activities
- Foster community support for the college
