New Student Resources
Welcome to New Student Resources. As a new SOAR student, you are offered resources for your success at Lane, right here on this page. Lane Community College offers the following Student Services to assist you in your academic goals. Please click on individual titles to be redirected to the respective website. Here is a campus map for your convenience.
Advising and Counseling
Counselors and Advisors provide new student information and advising on course selection for Lane and transfer programs. Lane counselors and counseling interns can help you manage issues such as feelings associated with anxiety and depression, financial stress, relational issues, and family dynamics. All services are available on a drop-in basis during open hours. A limited number of on-going, weekly personal counseling appointments are available each term. Located in Building #1, Room 103.
Bus Pass
When you pay for the credit classes you are taking at LCC's main campus or the Downtown Center, a bus pass is yours at no additional charge! So, you do the math...spend a wad of cash on car payments, gasoline, insurance, and maintenance...or save some money by riding the bus to school. And, you'll arrive at school refreshed and ready for your day, not frazzled from traffic and parking. For information on how to get your bus pass, click on “Bus Pass.”
Career and Employment Services

Advisors collaborate with students to identify and implement accommodations to create access to the learning environment, assist students in developing strategies for their college success, and provide resources and referral information. In addition, the department provides consultation and education to faculty and staff so they can work effectively with students who are receiving accommodations. Located in Building #1, Room 218.
Enrollment and Student Financial Services
The Enrollment and Student Financial Services department at Lane is the place to go for information and assistance for admissions, registration, financial aid and other enrollment-related services. Located in Building #1, Lobby.
Health Clinic
The LCC Health Clinic provides free or low-cost health care services to Lane students and employees, including treatment for most acute illnesses, minor injuries, and many chronic conditions. Appointments are preferred; the Health Clinic is open when school is in session. We also provide information and referrals to community resources. The clinic participates in the Oregon CCare (family planning) program. Students who pay the Health Clinic Fee when registering for classes are eligible to use the clinic, which is staffed by doctors, nurse practitioners, a nurse and a medical technologist. A number of students work in the clinic as part of their co-operative clinical experience or in Federal work study positions. All services provided are confidential. Located in Building #18, Room 101.
Honors Program
The Honors program provides Lane students a challenging and transformative learning experience through course work and services designed to foster academic rigor, scholarly inquiry, collaborative learning, creativity and independent thinking. Honors students benefits include honors transcript recognition, faculty mentorship, special seminars and events, and enhanced access to technology and library resources.
Lane is Proud to be Tobacco-Free
On September 27, 2010, Lane's 30th Avenue core campus became tobacco- free. Smoking is allowed in four designated areas in the perimeter of campus. These four designated smoking areas are in Parking Lots B, L, M and N (West, South, East and North of the campus core). The Cottage Grove, Downtown and Florence campuses are also tobacco-free. A tobacco-free campus is more aesthetically pleasing, welcoming and accessible to all students, environmentally sustainable, and decreases risk of fires. If you need help quitting, call the Lane Community College Health Clinic at 541.463.5665 to make an appointment and get prescription medications like Chantix at no cost or a reduced cost.
