ALL DEFERRED MAINTENANCE PROJECTS COMPLETE

September 1, 2009
PROJECT 451 UTILITY SUBMETERING

Meter installations completed this week: water in buildings 41, 49, and Center; natural gas in buildings 44, 49 and Center; electric in buildings 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 41 and Center. Main isolation valve replacements this week: domestic cold water in buildings 12, 15, 16, 17, and Center. Contact Angela Fazio, 463-3428.

PROJECT 451 UTILITY SUBMETERING

The following meter installations were completed this week: water, buildings 4, 17, 18, and 19; natural gas, building 19. Main isolation valve replacements this week: domestic cold water, buildings 2, 3, 18, and 19. Contact Angela Fazio, 463-3428.

UTILITY SHUT DOWN SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 21, 22, AND 23, 2009
Electricity will be shut down in Building 17 on August 23. Contact Mark Richardson, 463-3426.

PROJECT 446 EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Christensen Electric, the contractor for the exterior lighting replacement, continues to auger four foot deep holes for the pathway pole and bollard bases this week. 20% of the wall pack LED fixtures are installed. Look at the lower levels of buildings 15 and 17 to find them. 90% of the Cree LED soffit lights have been installed, with building 4 waiting at this point due to construction schedules. The rest of the LED fixtures to be installed are shipping this week, with installation to follow as schedules permit. Contact Dave Smith, 463-3433.

PROJECT 449 ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
Asbestos removal inside the tunnel is on schedule. The deferred maintenance crews working on insulating the pipes in the tunnel have temporarily been reassigned to help finish the smart classrooms. On August 7 Buildings 17 and 18 will have the HVAC system shut down to allow the contractor to remove asbestos fittings. Contact Mark Richardson, 463-3426.

PROJECT 449 ASBESTOS ABATEMENT

Pacific Environmental is scheduled to complete work in the last section of tunnel by July 28. Asbestos removal in the boiler room of building 11 is completed and work started Friday, July 17 in buildings 17, 15 and 12. Abatement crews are scheduled to start July 20 to remove the ceiling area around the old paint booth in building 12 to clear the path for installation of the new paint booth.
