SKD 030 - Using Computers to Write 1 -- This course introduces students to word processing on either the PC or
the Macintosh. Students will learn how to produce papers for college.
Concurrently, students will improve and enhance their academic writing
skills using the word processor as a tool.
SKD 035 - Using Computers to Write 2 -- Course continues the instruction of word processing
on either the PC or the Macintosh. Students learn intermediate
techniques they can use when producing papers for college.
Concurrently, students improve and enhance their academic writing and
research skills using the word processor as a tool. Basic Internet
skills for academic use including using data bases available on the
Library website, are also taught. Prerequisite: Keyboard familiarity, skills taught in SKD030, and instructor consent.
SKD 040 - Using Computers to Map Concepts -- This course
introduces students to computer-based strategies that will allow them
to represent information visually in meaningful formats. They will also
learn to use the computer to organize and synthesize information from
multiple sources. Prerequisite: Keyboard familiarity, and instructor consent.
