Orientation
During orientation you will meet with the instructor and/or other instructional staff to get a sense of what to expect from ABSE classes. You will be given tests in the subjects that you will be studying – typically reading, writing, and math. The multiple-choice reading and math tests are delivered in two parts – a short test that measures a broad range of skills, followed by a longer test that will pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses in each subject. You may also be given a non-multiple choice math test so that instructors can evaluate your math skills. For writing you will write on a topic provided for you. Please Note: Orientation and testing takes approximately 5 hours split over 2 days; 3 hours on the first day, 2 hours on a second day. Please also note that this orientation it to place you in our courses designed to prepare you to either take the GED test, or the college placement tests. There is a separate GED Orientation process to go through once you and your teachers determine you are ready.

Upcoming Orientation Schedule for New Students:
LCC will be closed January 16th for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday and February 20th for Presidents Day.
