Technology Advising and Consulting Team Charter

Membership
TACT membership solicitation will use an open and inclusive process such as through advertisements in the DAILY as vacancies occur.

Each applicant will complete a TACT Nomination Form using the TACT Membership Criteria as a guide for member’s attributes and skills.

TACT members will review nominations and then forward recommendations to the College’s Executive Team for final approval.

TACT will notify successful applicants following approval by the Executive Team.

Purpose
The purpose of TACT is to provide guidance, support and assistance to the Associate Vice President for Information Technology in maintaining Lane's vision, strategic direction and operational objectives.

TACT will annually identify the major technology issues facing the college and advise the AVP for IT on priorities, goals and issues. TACT will:

  • Inform the AVP for IT about internal activities, issues and concerns;
  • Encourage and facilitate campus coordination and collaboration, including budget decisions, about technology in the areas of:
    • Services to students,
    • Instructional development and delivery,
    • Professional development,
    • Information systems, and
    • Physical environment.
TACT will assist the AVP for IT in an annual update of college technology plans.

TACT will advise the AVP for IT on management of the revenue from the student general computer technology fee.

TACT will support and assist the AVP for IT in conducting internal and external research related to technology. TACT will:

  • Scan the external horizon for promising developments, opportunities and challenges;
  • Provide feedback to the AVP for IT on current college-wide plans and issues;

TACT will communicate with the college community regarding Lane’s vision, strategic direction and operational objectives. TACT will provide opportunities for the college community to:

  • Participate in setting technology goals;
  • Provide input and feedback to TACT about technology-related issues.
  • Decision-Making Authority

TACT is chartered by the Executive Team (ET). The AVP for IT will serve as liaison between TACT and the ET.

The AVP for IT will forward TACT recommendations that require action by the ET to the ET.

The AVP for IT will incorporate other TACT recommendations into Lane’s technology strategic planning process.

Process
TACT will meet as needed but not less than once per academic term.
