Connie Rowlett, administrative coordinator for the Science Division at Lane Community College, was named Employee of the Year at fall in-service on Sept. 23, 2009.
"Connie has been solving problems creatively and proactively in the science division for 29 years," said President Mary Spilde, who presented the award.
Rowlett was nominated by several faculty and staff from across the college community. She is known for considering the impact of decisions on student access, staff workload, and college goals. She always puts students first and she is a walking encyclopedia of information about Lane.
Colleagues said, "Need something, ask Connie. Need an answer to a complicated LCC question, ask Connie. Need to know who to ask or where to go at LCC, ask Connie. People come and go, but Connie is always there for all of the faculty, staff, and students."
