Klupenger, insructor and coordinator of the Small Business Management
program listens as Kirk Guidici explains elements of the Rising
Moon Organics label. |
Those who
enroll in Lane's program are "curious, creative, intelligent &
and pretty unique people," says Bill Klupenger, Small Business Management
Program coordinator and instructor.
He says, "Small business is not suited for everybody. People have
an interest in it, without knowing that they don't have the skills, or
the mindset to do it." Klupenger, who has an M.B.A. and more than
20 years of business and financial experience in large corporations and
small businesses, says, "My job is to help people get some clarity
around what they want to do."
Joan Kleban
and Vickie Galster, owners of Greater Goods, Inc., a retail business specializing
in imported items and energy efficient goods, found Klupinger's monthly
on-site visits invaluable. "These sessions helped put into practice
many classroom ideas," the two women say. "Bill gave us perspective
on our issues and provided the guidance for our proposed projects and
changes."
Robin Cushman, owner of Robin Cushman Photography, a horticultural photography
company, says, "What is most remarkable is his enthusiasm for teaching
and for each individual business. Bill draws on a wide range of knowledge.
In the classes, he presents all the topics one needs to build, evolve
and even sell a business."
