SBDC launches business management program for veterans
Eugene, OR - The Lane Community College Small Business Development will offer a new business management program for veterans this fall. The Veteran Business Management (VSBM) Program is designed specifically for veteran small business owners. VSBM will allow each entrepreneur to work "on" as well as "in" his or her business in order to achieve business, family, and personal goals. The program is designed and proven to improve small business owners' management and leadership skills resulting in greater success and profitability. Preference is given to recently deployed veterans whose businesses have been impacted by their deployment, but enrollment is open to all veterans.
The Veteran Business Management Program will be taught by Ron Tinsley, U.S. Army 1966-69, University of Oregon Business School graduate, and owner of several Oregon small businesses. The program runs for three consecutive terms, cost is $99 with scholarships available. Fall term class begins Wednesday, October 12. Space is limited; apply early. Lane SBDC was given a special training project assignment from the Oregon Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network. OSBDCN was awarded a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to deliver a special version of the Lane's highly successful and long-running Small Business Management program. VSBM was designed by Dr. Thomas Jones, recognized as one of the 15 most innovative business educators in the country, for veteran small business owners.
