Johnston, Ackerman to lead LCC board in 2011/12
EUGENE, OR - Susie Johnston of Pleasant Hill and Robert Ackerman of Eugene were elected chair and vice chair, respectively, of the Lane Community College Board of Education for 2011/12 at the board's July 13 meeting.
Johnston is a Lane graduate and was re-elected in May 2009 to a second four-year term. She represents Zone 4, the eastern part of the college district. Ackerman is a retired attorney. He was elected July 1965, re-elected March 1969, elected July 1999, elected May 2007, and re-elected May 2011. In addition, he served in the Oregon House of Representatives for three terms from 2001 through 2006.
Both have previously served as board chair.
Also serving on the board this year are Pat Albright and Rosie Pryor, both of Eugene; Sharon Stiles of Florence; and Tony McCown and Gary LeClair, both of Springfield.
