Students present a luau May 20 at LCC longhouse

EUGENE, OR - A luau will be held at Lane Community College on Friday, May 20 from 2-6 p.m., at the longhouse on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene, hosted by Lane's student American Design Drafting Association.
Performances by Kumu Iwalani and Island Arts will feature traditional and contemporary hula as well as a steel drum performance by Brad Hirsch. Educational information on Pacific Island culture and boat culture will be presented.
The luau is free and open to the community with a suggested donation for dinner. No one will be turned away as this is a celebration of food, life and culture. The dinner includes pit-roasted kalua pork, shoyu chicken and sticky rice, cabbage and macaroni salad.
Sponsors are LCC Council of Clubs, Associated Students of Lane Community College, LCC Drafting Foundation, LCC BSU and NASA, and Bright Oak Meats.
