LCC Announces Spring Faculty Concerts May 5 and 10
On Thursday, May 5 at 7:30 pm, in the Ragozzino Performance Hall on the LCC main campus, The Lane Faculty Jazz Quintet will play a 75-minute set of jazz standards as part of Lanes "Faculty Concert Series". Lane's Jazz Faculty have been presenting concerts for years but began working together on a weekly basis in the late fall of 2009 and have performed nearly a dozen times since.
The Lane Faculty Jazz Quintet are:
Dave Bender - trumpet
Ron Bertucci - trombone
Olem Alves - guitar
Nathan Waddell - bass
Glenn Griffith - drums
Repertoire to be performed will included music of John Coltrane, Hoagy Carmichael, Joe Henderson, Toots Thielman and Thelonius Monk.
On May 10 at 7:30 pm, in the Ragozzino Performance Hall on the LCC main campus, the Lane Community College Voice Faculty will present "American Voices: A Tribute to Song Heritage in the New World". Siri Vik, Gene Chin and Alison Slade will celebrate the work of both classic and contemporary composers, such as Aaron Copeland, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Erick Idle.
Accompanists include Sandy Holder, Genevieve Mason, Matthew Svoboda and Seth Mulvihill.
