Lane Community College Foundation announces two new board members
Rosie Pryor and Donald Rainer will join Lane's Board of Trustees

EUGENE, Ore. - The Lane Community College Foundation named two new members to its Board of Trustees. Rosie Pryor, chief marketing and strategy officer for Oregon Community Credit Union, and Donald Rainer, senior vice president of Ferguson Wellman Capital Management Inc., will join the board that oversees fundraising and scholarship initiatives for the college.

"Both of these new members have strong connections to Lane, and we're very fortunate to have them on our board," said Pete Gribskov, Foundation President. "Their passion for Oregon community colleges, combined with their deep experience in fundraising and development, make them huge assets to the foundation."

Pryor, who plans to run for election to the college Board of Education, is the daughter of a community college president. Her son attends Lane, and she has worked on several LCC bond measures. As a chief officer at Oregon Community Credit Union, she has participated in fundraising and development and worked for a variety of local organizations and causes, including election measures and candidates.

"As a member of the Lane Workforce Partnership Board, I'm clear about the critical role Lane Community College plays in ensuring community members have access to affordable, relevant training and education," Pryor said.

Rainer knows firsthand about the value of a community college education. He attended Lane before he could afford a four-year institution and says he owes the college a debt of gratitude. A member of the Finance Committee for the LCC Foundation, Rainer has managed assets for other community colleges in the West and served as a trustee for the Oregon Independent College Foundation. He held executive board positions with the March of Dimes, where he served as the chair of the local chapter.

"I spent time learning how to be a successful student at Lane, and I owe the institution for allowing me time to grow," Rainer said.

The LCC Foundation also announced its board officers for 2011-2012. The following officers were named for their ability to provide the strong leadership and the necessary support the foundation needs:

  • Pete Gribskov, President
  • Tony Baker, Past President
  • John Watkinson, First Vice President
  • Jeri Stark, Second Vice President
  • Glenn Munro, Treasurer
  • Jim Creech, Member at Large
