News from the Women's Program at Lane Community College

Soromundi benefit concert for Women in Transitions program at LCC February 19
EUGENE, OR - Soromundi, Lesbian Chorus of Eugene, will perform in a benefit concert for the Women in Transitions program at Lane Community College on Saturday, February 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall, building 6, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene.
Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 students and seniors, and are available at the door or online at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/tickets
Women in Transitions is a college entry program to assist single parents and other women in transition become economically self-sufficient through access to education, training and employment. All proceeds from the concert will go to the WIT scholarship fund.
Soromundi, Lesbian Chorus of Eugene, has come to be known for its political, emotional and musical power and as a vibrant part of the local community. Its more than 80 members are dedicated to the ideal that their visibility, energy and harmonies can work against ignorance and fear and help to support and sustain a strong and visible gay and lesbian community in Oregon. Song selections span generations and cultures, coming from vastly different political and religious perspectives. The chorus is open to all women willing to sing as Soromundi, Lesbian Chorus of Eugene.
Joining Soromundi for the concert will be 35 women who will have participated in an all-day choral workshop hosted by Soromundi.
