What is sanity? Based on Ken Kesey’s 1963 novel, Dale Wasserman's adaptation of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" wrestles with this simple yet profound question. Directed by Chris Pinto, this magnificent play poses that question to all of us. In a society where individuality is both prized and punished, where conformity all too often rules the day, the struggle of a small group empowered by its rule-breaking champion as they attempt to reclaim themselves and their dignity, serves as a powerful reminder of human frailty. As they grapple with their grip on reality, Wasserman makes us wonder: Who truly are the sick ones? Is it the patients or their nurses and doctors who are supposed to provide for their well being? He shows us that it is a fine line between sanity and insanity, and sometimes the line is blurred.
