LCC executive dean Helen Garrett will lead registrars association

EUGENE, OR - Helen Garrett, executive dean of student affairs at Lane Community College, has been named president of the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. PACRAO represents 12 western states and four Canadian provinces and is part of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.
Garrett has been a member of PACRAO since 1996. She joined Lane in 2000 as director of enrollment services and advanced to associate dean of student affairs, enrollment and student financial services in 2008. She was named executive dean in July 2010.
She has a bachelor of arts in business administration and a master of arts in education, college and university administration, both from Michigan State University.
Garrett is a recognized expert in FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) designed to protect the privacy of student education records.
