Learning Garden Harvest Festival Oct. 21 at LCC
EUGENE, OR - The Learning Garden at Lane Community College holds its first event of the year, the Harvest Festival, on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The garden is located in the southwest corner of campus behind the childcare enter. The event is free and open to the public.
- Soup made from garden produce and prepared by Lane culinary arts staff will be served at 12 p.m.
- Garden tours will be offered at 1:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 3:15 p.m.
- Compost demonstrations will be given at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
The student-run garden provides learning, service and leadership opportunities for students. Organic vegetables and fruit grow year-round and used in the student-run restaurant on main campus, the Renaissance Room, for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Program special events, in the main campus cafeteria, and for Learning Garden events.
