Fall assignment from LCC: Ride the bus

EUGENE, Or – Parking lots are expected to overflow again at Lane Community College main campus this fall. Main campus has about 4,200 parking spots including gravel lots added last year and restored parking from the completion of some construction projects. Last year, about 200 cars trolled for parking between the peak hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Parking tips—
- Ride the bus. Credit and ESL students at main campus and the Downtown Center pay a $27 transportation fee that includes the cost of the LCC Bus Pass. Information is online at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/facilities/transportation/lccbuspass.html
- LTD riders should choose an early bus from downtown Eugene (0:10, 0:20 or 0:50 after the hour) and avoid the full buses (0:30 and 0:40 after the hour). The downtown Springfield station has extra capacity and parking. Park-N-Ride locations are available all over Lane County. Information is online at www.ltd.org
- Carpool. Sign up through LTD’s Point-to-Point Solutions service online at www.point2pointsolutions.org
- Get a friend to drop you off.
- Ride your bike. Lane added several new bike racks this summer.
- Ride your motorcycle. Lane added 50 motorcycle slots last year that were underutilized.
- If you drive, arrive early to find a parking spot. Peak hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Don't park on Gonyea Road or Eldon Schaefer Drive, or risk being ticketed by the Lane County Sheriff's Office.
- Observe and obey all traffic, construction and directional signs.
Classes start September 27.
