McCown, Johnston to lead LCC board
EUGENE, OR – Tony McCown of Eugene and Susie Johnston of Pleasant Hill were elected chair and vice chair of the Lane Community College Board of Education for 2010/11 at the board’s July 14 meeting.
McCown is a political consultant. He was elected in May 2007 to a four-year term expiring June 30, 2011. He represents Zone 2, the northern part of the college district. He is a former Lane student body president.
Johnston is a Lane student and was re-elected in May 2009 to a second four-year term that expires June 30, 2013. She represents Zone 4, the eastern part of the college district. She previously chaired the board in 2008/09.
Also serving on the board this year are Robert Ackerman, Pat Albright and Roger Hall, all of Eugene; Sharon Stiles of Florence; and Gary LeClair of Springfield.
