Mike Williams, Lead Trumpeter for the Count Basie Orchestra, to Join Lane Jazz Ensemble on June 4 at 7:30 PM at Lane |
Lane Community College is proud to present a weekend of the best concerts this season, featuring the sounds of smooth jazz, Big Band music and the ever-inspiring chamber orchestra.
The Lane Symphonic Band will perform in concert with the Lane Concert Choir on Thursday, June 3 at 7:30 pm in the Performance Hall. The music will be a diverse selection of tunes by composers such as Camille Saint-Saens, John Philip Sousa and John Williams. Tickets are $5 adult, $3 Students and seniors. The Symphonic Band is directed by Ron Bertucci.
The Lane Jazz Ensemble will join with Mike Williams, Lead Trumpeter for the Count Basie Orchestra on Friday, June 4 at 7:30 for a smooth set of sounds from Duke Ellington, Paul McCartney, Bob Mintzer and others. The Ensemble will be joined by alumni saxophonist Josh Soran and trumpeter Steve O'Brien. Tickets are $12 adult, $5 for students and seniors. Ron Bertucci directs the Lane Jazz Ensemble.
The weekend concludes Sunday, June 6th at 3pm with the Symphonic Band joining the Lane Chamber Orchestra on a double bill featuring something for every musical ear and taste! Tickets for this concert - the last one until Christmas! are $5 adult, $3 students and seniors. The Symphonic Band is directed by Ron Bertucci, the Chamber Orchestra by Hisao Watanabe.
