News From Lane Community College Performing Arts

End of term Spring Concerts May20-June 6
The end-of-term Spring Concerts take center stage at Lane Community College beginning May 20.
They are:
- May 20-22, 8pm: The Works- dance choreography by advanced student choreographers. Thirteen original dances, ranging from tap to modern, and music from Skip James' 1931 "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues" to an original composition on the Hang, a Scandinavian percussion instrument. Tickets $10 General Admission, $5 students, staff and seniors. Online at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/tickets
- May 27, 7:30pm: Combined Choirs-The Lane Chamber Choir, Concert Choir and Spectrum Jazz Vocal Ensemble perform individually and as a combined choir in a night of diverse music from all over the world.
Music includes "Forget about the Boy", "Dry Your Tears, Africa" "Jump Down, Spin Around" and "Ezekiel Saw the Wheel" among many others. Ticket prices for this show are $5 General Admission, $3 Students, seniors and staff. Online at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/tickets - June 4, 7:30pm: SPECIAL CONCERT: Guest Artist Mike Williams (trumpet) of the Count Basie Orchestra swings the night with the Lane Jazz Ensemble. This is a special treat for Western Oregon. The program features a diverse set composed of contemporary and classic Jazz. Tickets for this show are $12-$8 students, seniors and staff.
