NORTHWEST TREATS, TWEETS AND POWWOWS: LCC SUCCESSFUL AGING INSTITUTE WINTER SATURDAY SERIES

EUGENE, OR - The Successful Aging Institute at Lane Community College presents three free preview presentations highlighting its winter "Boomers and Beyond: Saturday Series" at area activity centers:

  • Jan. 28, 1-2 p.m., Willamalane Adult Activity Center
  • Feb. 01, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., River Road Park and Recreation District
  • Feb. 02, 3-4 p.m., Campbell Community Center

The Saturday Series hands-on classes are specifically created for boomers and beyond, and open to adults of all ages. Each class runs March 6 to 20, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and costs $39. Winter term classes are:

  • American Indian Cultures: Then and Now: Celebrate the rich and varied legacy of Native American peoples of our region through presentations and demonstrations.
  • Get In Tune with the Classics: Enjoy a live quintet, presenting glorious melodies from selected composers, and discover the world events that influence the composers' work.
  • Fun and Easy Online Social Networking: Tweeting, blogging, and YouTube aren't only for the young. Explore the world through interactive social media.
  • Flavors of the Northwest: Experience the bounty, distinct tastes, and nuances of foods from our region in this class from the award-winning Culinary Arts department at Lane.
