LANE PREVIEW NIGHT FEBRUARY 10
EUGENE, OR - Lane Preview Night, the annual open house at Lane Community College for high school students and their families, will be Wednesday, February 10, from 6-8:30 p.m. in the gym, building 5, main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue, Eugene.
The event offers an opportunity to visit main campus, learn about academic and career training programs, and get a better feel for what higher education is all about. It’s also a chance to meet faculty and win prizes including bookstore merchandise and tuition certificates.
Schedule of Activities:
6 p.m. – Program Check-in (Building 5 / Gym Lobby)
6 p.m. – Information Fair (Building 5 / Main Gym and Gym Lobby)
7 p.m. – Welcoming Address (Main Gym)
7:30 p.m. – Breakout Sessions:
- Money Matters (gym) –Grants, loans, scholarships, federal work-study; how to budget.
- High School Connections and College Now (Building 5, Room 239) –How to earn college-level credit while still in high school.
- The First-Year Experience (Building 6, Room 126) – Programs to ease the transition from high school to college. .
- Student Involvement (Building 6, Room 140) –Presented by the Associated Students of Lane Community College (ASLCC).
- Disability Resources Transition Academy (Building 3, Room 216) – How students with documented disabilities can thrive on campus.
- Ten Tips for College Success (Building 2, Room 213) –Study skills, effective learning, and where to go if you need help on campus.
- Testing…Testing…123… (Building 4, Room 106) – Explains the process for new student placement exams in reading, writing and math.
8:15 pm – Q&A time and prize drawing (Building 5 / Gym Lobb
