Kate ALi and Kristie Potwora “Spring Thaw” opens February 1st

Eugene, Oregon - The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present “Spring Thaw”, a two-person show featuring artists and Lane Community College faculty members, Kate Ali and Kristie Potwora. Kate Ali teaches sculpture and Kristie Potwora teaches printmaking within the Department of Art and Applied Design. The exhibition consists of both sculpture and printmaking, along with installation work.
When asked about what inspires her printmaking, Kristie stated, “Working with and learning about natural elements and how they relate to each other catapulted me into creating numerous sketches and imagery studies.”

Kate’s sculpture focuses on the interpersonal dynamics that shape the way we interact with the world and treat one another. She states, “I believe that art has the ability to ask questions and push people to become more self-reflective.”
The show runs from February 1st through February 18th in the Art Department Gallery at Lane Community College.
Both artists will discuss their work on February 11th at 3:30 pm with a reception immediately following.
The gallery is located in building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene, Oregon. There is no charge for admission. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 463-5409.
