HOW TO PAY FOR COLLEGE…IN ONE DAY!
Financial aid and scholarship event January 30 at LCC
EUGENE, OR -- How To Pay For College…In One Day! will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Lane Community College Main Campus, Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19.
This is a free event to help students and parents complete the federal aid application process and access scholarship resources to fund their college education and reach their educational goals. The event features the 11th Annual Lane Community College Scholarship Workshops, plus the state's annual College Goal Oregon workshop held at Lane and 14 other sites. Last year, Lane’s event attracted more than 400 participants.
Participants will learn strategies for scholarship research and writing effective applications, as well as specific information about Oregon Student Assistance Commission, Ford Family Foundation, and Lane Community College Foundation scholarships. A workshop will be offered in Spanish. Financial aid professionals will help students and parents complete the federal financial aid (FAFSA) paperwork and online application process. Participants should bring their 2009 tax information and financial records, and a brown bag lunch.
