Cheryl Coon “Bestiary” opens January 4th
Eugene - The Lane Community College Art Gallery is proud to present “Bestiary”, a collective body of work by San Francisco artist Cheryl Coon. The exhibition consists of artist books that draw their central ideas from primordial images, archetypes, ancient rituals & texts, folklore and mythology.
Coon states, “I try to investigate the spiritual and the mysterious, patterns in nature versus chaos. So I try to create a space to contemplate the mysterious – everything from the sublimely beautiful to the ridiculously humorous.”
The show runs from January 4th through January 28th.
An Artist Lecture will be held on January 11th at 11:00 am with a reception immediately following.
The gallery is located on the first floor of building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue in Eugene, Oregon. There is no charge for admission. Gallery hours are 8:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:00am until 4:00pm on Friday. Gallery parking is available in lots "M and "N" on Eldon Schafer Drive off of E. 30th Avenue. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 463-5409.
