News from the Senior Companion Program at Lane Community College

Eugene, Ore. - The federal Senior Companion Program provides a tax-free hourly stipend of $2.65 to low-income volunteers age 55 or older who provide one-on-one outreach to frail, elderly and disabled adults for 15 or more hours per week. Companions serve through senior-oriented organizations in Lane County, which are responsible for all client selection. Pre-training and ongoing support is provided.
