LCC PRESIDENT MARY SPILDE TO CHAIR AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES

Eugene, Ore. - Dr. Mary Spilde, president of Lane Community College since 2001, will chair the American Association of Community Colleges board of directors effective July 1. She has served on the board since 2006 in a variety of roles.
A nationally known expert on workforce development and community college education, Spilde also serves on numerous additional boards including the League for Innovation in the Community College, American Association of Colleges & Universities, National Institute for Leadership Development, and the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment steering committee. She is co-chair of the Oregon Post-Secondary Quality Education Commission and a board member of the Lane Metro Partnership.
AACC advocates for more than 1,200 two-year colleges enrolling more than 12 million students, almost half of all U.S. undergraduates.
