Eugene, Ore. - Dr. Mary Spilde, president of Lane Community College since 2001, received her eighth straight outstanding annual performance evaluation from the college’s Board of Education.
“Mary is a well-respected and passionate leader within the college and community, state and nation,” said chair Susie Johnston at the board’s June 10 meeting. “She has preserved programs and services, served thousands more students, protected jobs, and secured significant new revenues, despite the worst economic crisis in decades.”
Johnston noted some of the Spilde’s key accomplishments in the past year, including “successful passage of the $83 million bond measure last fall to upgrade college facilities; successful negotiation of faculty and classified contracts; launching the public phase of the Opening Doors campaign; securing $8 million in deferred maintenance funds; fostering new partnerships to leverage public investment; reinforcing Lane’s role as a leader in sustainability; and program accreditation for physical therapy assistant and culinary and hospitality programs.”
Lane is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution.
