SPRING TERM CONCERT SERIES AT LANE!
The Spring Term Concert Series tunes up on May 29, 2009 and runs through June 5.
All concerts are in the Performance Hall, Building 6, on the Lane Community College Main Campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave. in Eugene.
All tickets are $3-5 sliding scale at the door, or you can go to our online box office at 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/tickets and buy a Spring Concert Series ticket good for all SIX concerts for $12! All proceeds from the Spring Concert Series go to the respective scholarship funds, supporting the students who support Lane with their musical talents!

The schedule is…
Friday May 29 at 7:30pm: Lane Jazz Ensemble, directed by Ron Bertucci; with guest artists “The Jazz Knights of Thurzday” from the Shedd Jazz Academy, directed by Glenn Griffith and the LJE Jazz Quintet featuring Josh Soran - tenor sax, Steve O’Brien – trumpet, Jules Moody- guitar, Milo Fultz – bass, and David Stoltz- drums.
Sunday May 31 at 3:00pm: The Lane Chamber Orchestra, directed by Hisao Watanabe presents Scheherazade by Nikolai-Rimsky Korsakov. This orchestral interpretation of The Arabian Nights features the haunting violin solo of Yvonne Hsueh.
Tuesday June 2 at 7:30pm: Lane Choirs. This special concert offers diverse musical encounters with three different choral groups. The Lane Concert Choir, directed by Debi Noel, presents “All-Broadway!”, featuring selections from “Requiem” (Andrew Lloyd Webber), “Rent” (Jonathan Larson), “Spring Awakening” (Frank Wedekind) and “Newsies” (Alan Menken and Jack Feldman). Vicki Brabham’s Spectrum vocal jazz group treats us to “Inside a Silent Tear”, “In the Wee Small Hours” and “On a Clear Day”. Finally, the Lane Chamber Choir, Matt Svoboda, director, examines the “Facets of Love” in a six-song set.
Wednesday, June 3 at 7:30 pm: The Lane Symphonic Band directed by Ron Bertucci will present their final concert program of the year on Wednesday, June 3rd at 7:30 in the Main Performance Hall at Lane Community College.
This 50-member wind & percussion ensemble will play 'classic' band works by Francois Gossec, Percy Grainger, Malcolm Arnold, William Schumann and Ralph Vaughan-Williams as well as film music of John Williams. The program will also feature several soloists from within the ensemble. The Lane Symphonic Band is comprised of students from Lane's Music Department as well as other students from the college and many community members.
Friday June 5 at 7:00 pm in the Blue Door Theatre, Main Performance Hall: The Spring Concert Series concludes with 5 Jazz Combos perform a smoking selection of cool popular and jazz standards for your entertainment. No better way to kick off a weekend made for chilling!
