LANE FOUNDATION SEEKS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI NOMINEES
EUGENE, ORE. - The Lane Community College Foundation seeks nominees for its Distinguished Alumni Awards.
“At Lane Community College, we are proud of every student. The Distinguished Alumni Awards give us an opportunity to profile students who have gone on to ‘do good’ in the world, and who have remembered the college along the way,” says Foundation Director Janet Anderson.
The awards go to alumni who completed 30 credit hours at Lane or earned an associate's degree. Nominees should have demonstrated achievement in their chosen profession, service to the community, or outstanding contribution to the college.
The 2009 Distinguished Alumni Awards will be presented at the Foundation’s President’s Circle Donor Reception on May 5.
Past honorees include: Molly Bedortha, nursing; Jeanne Benson, social service; Lee Beyer, public service; LuAnne Boettiger, nursing; Alison Donway, aviation; Sherry Duerst-Higgins, dental assisting and real estate; Marciann Gaston, childcare; Pete Gribskov, printing; Lorraine Kerwood, nonprofit management; Kathryn Harrison, tribal leader; Dr. John Holtzapple, medicine; John Lively, government; Dan Luoma, scientist; Sue Prichard, real estate; Jerry Smith, law enforcement; David Spriggs, government; Juan Carlos Valle, public administrator; Sid and Hank Voorhees, auctions; Timothy Wahlberg, aviation; and Cambra Ward, broadcasting.
