CANDACE NICOL "FIREWALLS" EXHIBIT OPENS FEBRUARY 23RD
EUGENE, OR - The Lane Community College Art Gallery presents "Firewalls" a collective body of work by Nevada artist, Candace Nicol.
In discussing her upcoming show, Nicol says, "Firewalls is a series of collagraphs and screenprints on plexi-glass that represent the psychological restraints we put upon ourselves and others; the underlying ideologies that shape our viewpoints and the complications that arise from interactions between people of different races."
These prints were directly inspired by the loss in our family, U.S. Marine Corps. Lance Cpl. Raul 'Chato' Bravo Jr., my cousin, 21, who recently died serving this country in Iraq.”
The exhibition runs from February 23rd through March 12th.
The gallery is located in building 11 on main campus, 4000 E. 30th Avenue. There is no charge for admission. The Art and Applied Design Department phone number is 463-5409.
Lane is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution.
