LCC BOND MEASURE ON THE BALLOT
Eugene, Ore. - Lane Community College has placed bond Measure 20-142 on the November 4 ballot to update instructional facilities, equipment and technology.
Many buildings at Lane are more than 40 years old. They need new heating and cooling systems, plumbing, roofing, and other upgrades. Classrooms and labs need to be improved to increase access, alleviate crowding, and provide up-to-date technology and equipment.
The estimated cost is about 25 cents per $1,000 of assessed value and continues the same level of taxes that property owners currently pay under a bond approved in 1995. That bond will be paid off next year.
Measure 20-142 would provide $83 million for improvements and renovations at Lane.
More information is available online at lanecc.edu/bond.
Lane Community College provides an affordable, accessible education for those working hard to improve their lives. The college served 34,000 students last year.
