BDC HIRES GENE HAMACHER TO HELP WITH INNOVATIONS, PROCESSES AND BUSINESS PRACTICES

EUGENE OR - Gene Hamacher has been hired as an instructor/advisor at the Lane Community College Business Development Center. He instructs and coaches small business owners in focusing on their innovations, processes, and business practices through the Innovation Business Management Program (IBM).
Hamacher spent the last three years teaching classes for ITT Technical Institute and DeVry University ranging from production control to project management; and from problem solving to mathematics. He has 16 years of experience working in aerospace as both an engineer and a manager. He helped implement hardware variability control methods and new product development projects, such as the Next Generation 737. He has lead teams developing new tools for product and process introduction such as digital process assembly and total productive maintenance. His management experience has included assignments in engineering, finance, lean manufacturing, and production support. Gene is a Boeing certified Team Leader And Trainer For Their Hardware Variability Control And Lean Manufacturing programs.
Gene’s education is in both business and engineering. He holds a bachelor of science in electronics engineering technology from DeVry University in Phoenix; and has a master of science in management and a master of science in engineering, both from M.I.T. His studies in business were focused on operations management, and his engineering courses were centered on product development methods. During his time at M.I.T., Gene was accepted into the Leaders for Manufacturing fellows program.
